2XL Commercial Finance is delighted to have been involved in the old Huddersfield mill transformed into state of the art student accommodation and has now seen its second intake of students.

The property had been unused for some time and was in a poor state of repair when it was identified by the client who had successfully operated a portfolio of residential properties in the town and enjoyed a very strong reputation for the quality of accommodation provided to the increasing student population. 100% occupancy was seen across the portfolio and they knew that with the right quality of offering that the mill property would be equally as successful.

The property was acquired and change of use planning consent obtained and now provides 80 student accommodation places; the accommodation is of a very high standard and is proof that the right quality product will be successful. The clients pride themselves on providing the best possible accommodation which the students are proud to live in.

We were involved from the project from its embryonic stage through to completion and arranged the development finance and long term funding.
